Shifts are from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM (day shift) or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM (night shift). Additionally, one day every two weeks is reduced to an 8-hour day to meet an 80-hour bi-weekly schedule. Retirement and Benefits LEPD offer a competitive benefits package, including: - Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. - Participation in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with a 2:1 match at 7%, vested at 5 years. - Starting salary of $76,894 per year for police officers, based on a 12-hour shift/80-hour bi-weekly schedule. - 11 paid holidays and three personal days. - Sick leave, paid parental leave, and paid volunteer leave. - Employee recognition programs, training opportunities, and tuition reimbursement. - Wellness programs and incentives. Additional Benefits - Take-home vehicles are available for officers residing within a 30-minute drive time.
